An educator, hip-hop scholar, practical theologian, grassroots organizer, multi-platinum music producer, pastor, and published author, Dr. Christopher Michael Jones is a distinctive voice at the intersection of hip-hop culture, theology, education, and community transformation. A true hybrid of Hip-Hop and the Christian Church, Dr. Jones is committed to advancing a prophetic message of love, social uplift, self-empowerment, and economic justice. As a hip-hop scholar and educator, he takes seriously the intellectual, cultural, entrepreneurial, and social significance of hip-hop, employing its language, history, artistry, and cultural wisdom as powerful tools for teaching, preaching, leadership development, and intergenerational engagement. His communication methodology reaches across generations by lovingly keeping it real and making the truth plain through powerful preaching, insightful teaching, academic lecturing, creative writing, and culturally relevant scholarship. His work reflects a rare synthesis of the academy, the Black Church, and hip-hop culture, allowing him to translate complex ideas into meaningful experiences that inspire people to think critically, live purposefully, and pursue transformative change.

A graduate of Forest Hills High School, Dr. Jones graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University, earned his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and received his Doctor of Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary, with a concentration in Preaching as Pastoral Care in the African American Tradition. He has pursued additional theological and academic study at institutions including the University of Oxford, where he served as a Graduate Fellow of Theology. His professional writing has appeared in publications including Ebony, Essence, and Life, further reflecting his commitment to bringing scholarly, theological, and cultural conversations into the public square.

Most recently, Dr. Jones was appointed Chaplain of the Hillside Police and Fire Departments in Hillside, New Jersey, becoming the first African American appointed to serve as chaplain to both departments in the 105-year history of Hillside. Across the pulpit, classroom, recording studio, community, and academy, Dr. Jones continues to demonstrate how hip-hop can function not merely as music, but as a profound cultural language for theology, education, identity, leadership, and social transformation.
